This is My Design
So this is my Eisenhower Quadrant. Basically everything in the Urgent/Important category are the things in my planner that have been bolded, underlined, or marked urgent in some way. The Not Urgent/Important things are the things that are always in the back of my mind that need to be done, but aren't a priority right now. The Urgent/Less Important things are things that will need to be done in the not to distant future, but right now I can keep that lower on my list. Then the Not Urgent/Less Important things are the things that I can do before bed as a reward for doing everything else and when I am winding down and not going to be looking at work.
Another Year!
Ahhh back for another year at Visions. I feel a lot more confident about being in Visions this year since I already have one year under my belt. After watching Ally and the rest of the Development team last year, I have a pretty good idea what I am in for this year. I don't feel as blind as I did last year. With that said, I know there will be a lot of challenges in front of me for the next year (ie raising a hella lot of money). We absolutely have our work cut out for us and it will be a lot of work, but I am really looking forward to whatever it brings. I hope that this year I will be able to further improve my leadership and organizational skills. Raising money takes a lot of time, consideration, concentration, commitment, and patience. I know for sure that it will test me and I hope to be able to work on all those skills (especially patience) so that I can be successful in this position.
Since it has been about 4 months since I have used Google Drive and Google Calendar, the tutorials were a nice reminder of how everything works. Luckily I was familiar with the information it gave so I didn't get too confused or stressed. It was just a refresher course. The matrix tutorial will absolutely come in handy for me since I tend to procrastinate when I feel overloaded. This will help me sort through all the tasks that I will have over the next few months so that I can be more productive and get work done more efficiently.
Looking at the Procrastination/Time Management list, I feel that I can fit into multiple of the categories depending on the circumstances of the situation. The most common ones for me are perfectionism and fear of evaluation. I want to do the best job possible, and that can intimidate me. It also causes me to not ask for help when I probably should ask for help. I ultimately still get the job done, but usually not without a few tears along the way. My goal throughout this year is to be ahead of my tasks and keep up with what needs to be done to limit the amount of stress tears on my part.
